A few weeks ago, some close friends hosted a St. Patrick's Day poker party. Since the party is themed, everyone wears green and silly St Pat's hats, glasses and anything else we can find to add a festive touch. We all bring something to eat or drink and play poker all night. This year I decided to extend the green theme to my adult beverage concoction and made up a variation on the classic bridal shower punch. Here is this week's Thirsty Thursday Drink:
Dirty Leprechaun Punch
2 liters ginger ale
1 can frozen lemonade concentrate slightly thawed
1 can frozen lime concentrate slightly thawed
1 bottle of dry champagne (Brut)
1 container lime sherbet
lemon and lime slices and ice ring for garnish
punch bowl and ladle (use bigger cups than come with bowl-it's so tasty!)
Bundt pan (for freezing ice ring)
Pour water into a Bundt pan and freeze for several hours (this will be your ice ring) Assemble punch right before party for best results. Loosen ice ring from Bundt pan and place in punch bowl, curvy side facing up. Add all ingredients, lemon and lime slices for garnish. Float small spoonfuls of sherbet into punch bowl or in individual cups as served. Have extra ginger ale, champagne and sherbet to mix in as this punch will not last! Even the men liked it.
I'm sorry I don't have a picture of the punch in all its glory-When all the ingredients mix together it really is kinda of a "dirty green" hence the name. Feel free to experiment with different colors of sherbet, use a white soda if you don't like ginger ale and you can certainly cut a few calories by using diet versions of ingredients. You could use this at any event-give it a try!
This looks like so much fun! And yummy too! You are going to get me fat with all these recipes!
