A New Feature : WTH? Wednesdays

A gathering of stories that make you say WTH??

The Key Underwood Memorial Graveyard near Cherokee, Ala., is reserved as hallowed ground for burial of genuine coon dogs, which must be judged authentic before their carcasses can be accepted, according to a December report in The Birmingham News. The Tennessee Valley Coon Hunters Association must attest to the dog's having had the ability "to tree a raccoon." (In March, a funeral for one coon dog at Key Underwood drew 200 mourners.) Football!

Yes, I am a football fan...especially now, because my two favorite teams are in the AFC and NFC Championships today and may end up playing each other in the Superbowl!

My dream Superbowl is Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers because:

1. The hubby is from Pittsburgh
2. I am from Wisconsin
3. I'll get to throw a Superbowl party
4. No matter who wins, someone in our house wins!
5. If Packers win, my mom will send us new cheese hats
6. If it's the Steelers, our Pittsburgh relatives will send Steeler gear
7. and since we live near Denver, either will annoy Broncos fans!

Good Luck today!!

Confessions from inside the department store

For the last year, I've worked part time/on call at a major department store.  I'm a "start team" member, so basically I help get the merchandise out onto the floor.  Last week was inventory time, so we all gathered in the middle of the night (for 3 nights in a row) , in our PJ's, with our scanners in hand to count EVERYTHING in the store!

This is serious business, so there isn't a lot of chatting or clowning around while counting.  However, when it's break time we get a little punchy and cut loose.   Seriously, who could resist  messing with the mannequins in lingerie for a photo op?  Obviously not me!

disclaimer: no mannequins were harmed in the taking of this photo.    Humiliated?  maybe

A burst of creativity

Inspired by a hand stamped magnet my friend Julie gave me for my birthday, I decided to make Valentine-themed magnets for a Stampin' Up! party I was invited to on Saturday.

Julie's creation: love the re purposed cardboard and old magnet on back

the Valentine magnets I created:

The make and take projects from Melissa's party:

I also made Julie a mini Christmas journal:

If you would like to know the specifics of what stamps, inks, embellishments, etc I used, drop me a line

Qwik Hitz

These are random thoughts, observations and events that made up my week:

Got my hair done with a new shaggy cut and tri color highlights-love it!

I had to wait in line EVERYWHERE I went this week, argh!

Dear City of Greeley snow plow guys, rather than scraping 4th street down to gravel 54 times, one pass through my neighborhood would be amazing. A week after a storm and I still slide thru the stop sign?

Finally got around to getting new glasses-they are fun and sparkly and I found out I can get to 20/30 (never gotten past 20/40 before)  You people with perfect eyes ENJOY!

A new look for a new year

Apparently I have more fun changing my page elements than anything else...scribbly, multi-colored background...kinda like me!  Here's to a great first week of the new year!
